Getting tricked

Back to back mornings. Who am I? What is this feeling?

We headed north to go to one of the 3 protected spots from the Northerly winds. Rocked up. realised there was no wind. No surfers. Lots of dolphins. So packed the boys up and headed to the other side and found where the party was at.

Unknown surfer throwing air again and again. Everything still feels unsettled, but that isn’t stopping anyone.

And i got to chat to one of my favourite people, who is now riding a “gutridder” which is a new for me to see. The things you ride when your recovering but need that salt water.

The return of light

Finally, right?

This morning things felt like they were getting back to normal after Tropical Cyclone Alfred tore through the East Coast of Australia for what feels like 2 weeks.

I shot one morning down at the boat ramp in Coffs Harbour. I didn’t leave the car. Just sat in the passenger seat, window down and shot for 20 mins as the kids went chaotic in the back. Then the rain came.

So waking up and heading to the local to see a smooth wave rolling through the mid was a beautiful sight.

Now its about going through the caravan and the car and playing a game I call “is this too mouldy to keep?”

I can’t complain though. In two years of traveling we have had very little rain. So you can’t blame us being back on the East Coast for bringing the rain.

Rain for us was nice for the first 2 days…. by day 10 though… feral cats in a box are better tempered than our family was.

It’s good to be back at the beach.
